A therapist since 1986, I have a deep commitment for helping people articulate and address the core issues with which they struggle. I strive to help couples and families create an atmosphere in which to enjoy harmonious and deep relationships. My therapy style is caring and direct, gentle and engaged. I am both process and goal-oriented.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and have been in private practice since 1989. In addition, I have worked as the stress management and biofeedback program coordinator at a local psychiatric facility, the Houston Day Hospital, and as a consultant at the Awty International School. I present seminars and workshops to a wide variety of community and professional organizations, churches, minority groups, and schools.
I am a certified Gottman Method Couples' Therapist, certified Gottman Couples Workshop Leader, certified Level I Trainer, and a member of the Gottman Institute. I am on the executive board of Houston Group Psychotherapy Society, a member of the Houston Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
I employ an eclectic approach to psychotherapy, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities: cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion coaching, Gottman method, Emotionally Focused Therapy EFT, and psychodrama. Dedicated to keeping up with the latest research and advances, I have pursued indepth and wide-ranging advanced training throughout my practice.
I am fluent in English, French, and Arabic, and can conduct therapy in any of these languages.
